All required biometric matching and smart card functionality is processed within the device using an embedded microprocessor platform. Information is stored and processed within the secure environment of the reader or the smart card.

Precise 250 MC uses 2-factor authentication, which means the user must present both their fingerprint and a valid smart card, where the fingerprint templates are securely stored. The patented Precise Match-on-Card technology allows for the secure storing and matching of the fingerprint template to take place on the smart card. Precise 250 MC is designed for Windows XP and 2000 environments, but integrates easily into other platforms thanks to CCID compliance and standardized USB interface.
